IKEA Introduces Vegetarian Alternative To Their Famous Meatballs

Swedish furniture giant IKEA has annouced that it is releasing a vegetarian version of their famous and well-loved meatballs into European markets.

The new meatball alternative called GRĂ–NSAKSBULLAR, is sustainably produced from chick peas, green peas, carrots, kale and corn. The company claims that the carbon footprint of the new vegetable ball is 30 times less than that of a meatball.

The move to introduce the vegetarian alternative comes after a successful PETA petition that called for IKEA to start serving animal product-free versions of their well-loved meatballs.

Would you try a vegetarian ball the next time you stop at IKEA?
