The following infographic explains why hashtags should be used and provides useful tips for success on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
For instance, Instagram posts with more than 11 hashtags have the highest interactions. The opposite is true for Twitter, where tweets with 1 or 2 hashtags have higher engagement than those with 3 or more. It appears that hashtags build community on Instagram, but are mainly used for categorisation and organisation on Twitter.
