Founder Kenton Lee of The Shoe That Grows has created shoes for impoverished kids, which are designed to “grow” together with a child’s feet over a period of five years.

Kenton first had the idea of creating a growing shoe when he saw a girl attending mass without shoes in Nairobi, Kenya—the current design is much simpler now, as compared to the first, featuring only three main areas that can be adjusted to fit the wearer's feet.

The shoes are made from compressed rubber and leather straps, so that it is resilient for daily wear and easy to clean—it comes in two sizes, small that would fit a child in kindergarten to fourth grade, and a large for fourth to ninth graders.
