Neglected City Street Corners Get A Makeover With Sparkling Crystals

Multidisciplinary artist Paige Smith, also known as A Common Name, has been installing crystallised rock formations in street corners over the past few years.

She continues to install ‘urban geodes’, which are created with paper and spray paint or cast in resin. Although her creations don't often withstand the weather and natural forces, their ephemeral existence points to the fact that small treasures can be found everywhere.

Smith's creations can be found in quiet, unnoticed spaces all over the world, and she provides a map on her website showing where all her ‘urban geodes’ can be found. You can also follow her installations on Instagram.
