The Gorgeous Interiors Of ‘Endangered’ Bowling Alleys In Germany



In Munich, bowling alleys used to be a hugely popular gathering spot for families and friends to play the 9-pin bowling game called “Kegeln”. The once brightly-lit, diverse interiors of these “Kegelbahnen” have now gone dimmer, with several beginning to switch off forever.

Robert Götzfried, a Munich-based photographer, pays tribute to these bowling alleys that played a huge part in his childhood. Capturing these bowling spots all over Munich before they go extinct, Götzfried aims to shoot and immortalize the once celebrated tradition, hoping to preserve them for generations to come.
