Lithuanian artist Tadao Cern captures photographs of human beings in awkward and ridiculous states, but he portrays them in a way that is guileless and realistic. His latest photo series, ‘Comfort Zone’, contains the same doses of wry humor and realism.
For the project, Cern visited various beaches during the summer to photograph people sprawled in repose on their beach mats. The beach-goers look like they are in the comfort of their own homes, without a care in the world.
“These photos are not staged and every single detail in them tells us a different story about ourselves,” Cern explained.
