‘FBomb’ is a new site that shows an interactive map that charts, in real time, every single time a user tweets the word ‘fuck’.
The website was designed by Martin Gingras of Carleton University in Ottawa, who was inspired by a conversation he had about “how people misuse and abuse the English language”, and “how swearing can completely undermine one’s argument”. The discussion sparked the idea of mapping places where people swear, and ‘FBomb’ was born.
A ‘signpost’ pin is dropped on the FBomb map whenever someone in the area drops an ‘F bomb’, along with a mini animated bomb explosion. Users can click on the signpost to view the culprit’s tweet and Twitter handle.
So far, the US and Britain seem to contain the most foul-mouthed Twitter users. Click here for a link to the site.
