Portraits Of Whimsical Characters With Strange Heads That Morph Into Landscapes

Austria-based artist Stefan Zsaitsits has created a series of wonderful large-scale graphite illustrations that are part portrait and part landscape.

These drawings feature a collection of whimsical characters, most of whom has something in common—many of them have strange, surrealist heads.

The most intriguing pieces in the series depicts characters whose heads blends cleverly with landscape scenes—for instance, one of the drawings shows a man whose head is also a forest that is inhabited by woodland creatures, including a bear and a rabbit.

Some of the artist’s fantastical drawings are collected in a book titled Headsongs.
