Motion artist Cento Lodigiani has turned the 12 principles of animation by Walt Disney Studios into a series of animated GIFs.
Developed by animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston in the 1930s, they include “squash and stretch” and “follow through and overlapping” which give the impression of weight to an object moving through space, as well as “timing” which ensures an object appears the same while adhering to the laws of physics.
Lodigiani also created a short film that brings all 12 GIFs together.
