The Beautifully Intricate Mosaic Station Signs Of The New York City Subway

New York-based freelance art director and designer Adam Chang has created the NY Train Project after noticing the often over-looked beauty of the signs found in the city’s subway stations.

Made up of intricately arranged tiles—often small mosaic tiles—each sign is unique to its location and is “infused with the personality of the neighborhood”.

To complete this visual project, Chang has spent 20 hours riding and waiting for trains, performed nine subway swipes and covered a total of 118 stations.

A reminder that we are surrounded by unexpected everyday beauty, this online gallery would definitely appeal to the signage geek in you—view all the images from the project here.
