Cabin Looks Exactly Like A Boulder, Blends Perfectly Into Swiss Alps Landscape

Inspired by the Swiss tradition of observing the Alps by “living with them, hiding inside them”, Geneva-based studio Bureau A has created “Antoine”, a mountain cabin that looks just like a boulder on the outside.

Blending in with the surrounding rock fall field, the grey concrete exterior of the cabin conceals a cozy interior space that features wooden walls and basic amenities, including a fireplace, a bed, a table, a stool and a window.

Sitting on its precarious perch on the side of the Alps, this one-of-a-kind cabin was first built in a nearby village before being transported to its current spot—it is designed to be an alpine shelter that is large enough for just one man.
