Quirky Photo Series Shows Vintage Film Cameras Taking Selfies Of Themselves

German photographer Juergen Novotny, also known as J. Flynn Newton, wondered “what happens when photo cameras would come up with the idea to take selfies”, and came up with his quirky photo project CameraSelfies.

These pictures show vintage film cameras, such as the Polaroid Land Camera, Pentaka 8 and and Zenit-E, juxtaposed against contemporary wallpapers, in the act of taking a picture of themselves with the help of a “mirror”.

In fact, according to the photographer, the viewers “are the mirror” in this case, that reflects the images found on the lenses of these cameras.

These photographs are available as originals or high quality prints here.
