A contact lens company has produced an ad that parodies the plot of Discovery Channel’s Eaten Alive—except that the ad shows a man being ‘really devoured’ by a snake, unlike the actual show, which drew a lot of flak for its misleading claims.

The wacky ad, produced by agency Pereira & O’Dell, was initially planned for release next month. But after getting news of Discovery Channel’s Eaten Alive, its broadcast was shifted earlier.

Featuring a man swallowed by a fake snake, the company 1-800 Contacts hopes to bring out the contrast of the “very real” dangers of running out of contact lens.

At least in our spot, someone was actually inside the snake!
