Copywriter Creates Brilliant Website With Self-Editing Text To Promote Himself

London-based copywriter Jon Ryder, who previously mailed boxes of fake medication to advertise his services, has come up with an ingenious new method of promoting himself.

The enterprising creative has just launched a brilliant website that features self-editing text that rearranges and deletes itself live on-screen.

Optimized for desktop, it presents you with a wall of text with highlighted segments inviting you to click them—doing so will cause the message to progressively get shorter until only the words “Tell stories brilliantly—hire a copywriter” are left.

If you’re viewing the website on your smartphone or tablet, its responsive nature automatically recognizes the platform you’re on and adjusts its content accordingly. Instead of the self-editing text, the website keeps it short and sweet with a succint description of Ryder’s services.

A clever way of showing how good copy cuts to the chase without needless fluff, it was built by London design studio She Was Only.

Speaking to us, Ryder said that it is based on the idea that “copywriting is about homing in on the essential message, cutting out all the unnecessary words.”

Thanks to the fun interactive element, the website demonstrates the power of copywriting in action, and also highlights Ryder’s versatility as a copywriter who’s equally adept at crafting copy for the web and mobile devices.
