A Dramatic, Futuristic 3D-printed Swimsuit That Makes A Bold Fashion Statement

This 3D printed swimsuit looks straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Designed by Nadir Gordon, a Fashion and Textile Design student from the University of Palermo, “Waves” gives us a glimpse of the future's swimwear.

The one-piece bathing suit has an Elizabethan collar that look like sea anemone, with a bustle-like lower half and an updated version of the mermaid's shell bra. Gordon drew inspiration from avant-garde fashion designers like Iris Van Herpen and Francis Bitonti, who also use 3D printing to transcend the structural limits of fabric in an effort to create sculptural, otherworldly pieces.

The swimsuit is still at prototyping stage, but you can get a full view of it here.
