20 Puffin Classics have been given a brilliant redesign and will be returning to the bookshelves this March 2015 in new contemporary covers.
Penguin Children’s book designer Anna Morrison was part of the project in re-jacketing these popular classic children books. She told CreativeBoom, “We knew we wanted the series to have a sparkling new approach that was timeless and would appeal to children and older readers alike.”
The new covers were designed by illustrators and up-coming designers, working around the template of having the Puffin logo across the bottom and the author’s name written in a classic font.
While some of these designers, like Andrew Bannecker who created the designs for The Secret Garden and A Little Princess entirely digitally, others like Kali Ciesemier hand-painted the cover of Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales.
