Selfies may be one of those social media trends that people love to hate, but what about selfies with artworks?
It seems that the “#artselfie” phenomenon has reached significant proportions as art magazine DIS has published a book that shines the spotlight right on it.
Featuring the writing of Douglas Coupland and Simon Castets, its pages are also filled with images of art selfies found online—according to the book’s creators, “these selfies and their dialogue with art are an opportunity to revisit fundamental questions such as: if art is a mirror, what happens when we place ourselves between it and the camera? “.
