Previously, we featured an eye-opening feature that reveals how “one size fits most” clothes look like on different body sizes.

Here is another interesting feature, created by the BuzzFeed team, that shows us how five average women look like when they are Photoshopped to look like magazine cover models, who tend to have features like “small waists” and “thin legs”.

The team paired Photoshopped portraits of each woman, created by LA-based photo retoucher Francesca Ling, with their unretouched photographs to “demonstrate how far from reality magazine standards for beauty can be”.

Reactions from the five women struck a common chord—they seemed to be impressed and enthused with their retouched photos at first glance.

However, most of them later opined that by brushing away their unique features, such as freckles and scars, it made them appear “less genuine” and “inauthentic”.
