A Project To Translate Words Into Emoji, To Create A New Universal Language

Fred Benenson of ‘Emoji Dick’ and Chris Mulligan are on a quest to turn emoji into a universal language that would be understood by people all over the world.

The project titled ‘The Emoji Translation Project’ will be creating the first emoji translation engine and phrasebook, replacing common English phrases with emoji.

For instance, the phrase “Please can I have a bottle of wine?” is represented by the girl with a raised arm, a glass of wine, and a milk bottle, and the emoji with both hands joined together.
