In what was originally meant to be an April Fools’ joke, the ‘SmartBoy’ is now a full-fledged project slated for consumer release.
It is a device that could turn your iPhone into an actual Game Boy. It lets gamers insert actual Game Boy cartridges into it, giving them the same old-school gaming experience with a high quality screen.
Hyperkin’s product developer said that the team is interested in creating a retro device that can be adapted into the modern gamer’s arsenal of devices. They have confirmed that they are also experimenting with Android and Windows handsets.
