Enjoy Watching And Creating Movies In 3D With This Battery-Free Optic Device

Seattle-based designers—Ethan Lowry and Joe Heitzeberg—have devised a smartphone accessory, called 'Poppy', that will 'transform' your smartphone into a 3D camera.

The device takes 3D photos and video clips by combing two "stereographic images" through the iPhone’s camera. Poppy can also be used to watch standard videos on the popular video sharing website, Youtube in vibrant 3D.

One of the neatest features about the device is the fact that it doesn't need batteries because there are no electronics involved—the invention is based purely on clever optics. The creators alluded their invention to "View-Masters of old"—the cool viewfinder toys by Disney that some of us used to play with in childhood.

The result of all these considerations is an invention without astronomical costs—meaning that more people can afford it and enjoy its high quality.

Poppy works with the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and the fifth-generation iPod touch, as well. If you're interested in their idea, you can back them up on Kickstarter.

The video below will tell you more about this interesting device:
