In France, A Torn Apart House Surreally Suspended In The Air

Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich created a large sculpture that surreally defies gravity for the biannual Le Voyage a Nantes art festival.

His piece, entitled ‘The Furniture Lift—The Ultimate Moving Out’, features a partially blown apart house suspended in the air by a ladder, with its bricks, pipes and wooden floor exposed.

With only a typical French-styled window left behind, 30-feet in the air, Erlich’s sculpture peacefully questions safety—why do our homes make us feel safe when anything could happen anywhere?
