To make San Francisco’s streets less “ugly,” the state’s Municipal Transportation Agency commissioned Mona Caron to turn a utility box into a work of art.
The result is a colorful optical illusion as the illustration on the box blends into the landscape of the city when viewed from a certain vantage point.
Dubbed “Manifestation Station”, this optical illusion is a clever way to get people to notice what’s going on in their surroundings.
