As told to Fast Co. Design, French designer Antoine Corbineau wanted to “show a fresh and free view of Paris”—so he created a visually striking illustrated map of the City of Light that is dense with colors and lovely details.
Taking just two weeks to complete the print, Antoine displayed the French capital’s maze of streets and iconic landmarks in an eye-catching pop art style—according to him, “the choice of places, monuments and details was rather spontaneous”.
The various well-known areas of the cities are marked with unconventional motifs. For instance, the famous Père Lachaise cemetery is highlighted with an electric guitar with a cross for a neck, in reference to the “rock star quality” of its talented occupants.
