The design of eggnog cartons is probably not something most people give a lot of thought too, but Seattle-based graphic designer Madeleine Eiche is an exception.
She has started the “Eggnog Project”, an online catalog where she documents the surprisingly good-looking designs of eggnog packaging from all over North America.
“The peculiarities of the packaging range from festive to banal, minimal to unappetizing, and each seem to be printed with complete disregard for color alignment. It is precisely these things that make for such compelling kitsch.”
From California and New York to Vancouver, British Columbia, this charming collection of Tetra Pak cartons reminds us that beauty can be found in the most unlikely of places.
