Artist Grayson Perry has collaborated with Andy Bates to make a handbag that looks like a man’s scrotum.
Named “Scrotal Sac”, this unique bag also has a frontal appendage at its end, and was molded into a handbag using leather.
The design was passed to Andy Bates, who soaked the bark-tanned calfskin in water for it to become more malleable.
Nails had to be driven into the bag so that the bumps on the scrotum could be made and the bag was stitched together with waxed linen thread.
Perry supplied the bell, adding the finishing touch to the bag. He now carries this whenever he is playing his alter-ego, Clare.
Bates has received numerous requests to replicate this bag, but has declined to make another one, making this bizarre bag truly one-of-a-kind.
