In collaboration with Central Saint Martins, plumbing and drainage company Dyno-Rod issued a challenge to redesign and upgrade the existing 130-year-old flush toilet.
The winning design, created by post-graduates Pierre Papet, Victor Johansson and Samuel Sheard, was revealed to coincide with World Toilet Day on 19 November 2013.
Contrary to what many people may think, squatting is in fact the best position in which to perch oneself on the toilet—it could potentially reduce intestinal cancer and haemorrhoid issues by promoting better colon cleaning and faster elimination.
Considering this, the winning redesigned toilet, named the “Wellbeing Toilet”, is a healthier option as it enables users to squat instead of sit.
What do you think of this “better” toilet design?
