Using molten aluminum, the owner of Anthill Art creates complex and intricate sculptures by pouring the hot liquid metal into ant nests.

Selling them on eBay, these amazing sculptures come in various designs and sizes—from the simple tunnels of the carpenter ant, to the complex mazes of the fire ant.

In the video below, it shows how these detailed sculptures are made. First, molten aluminum is poured into the ant nest, filling the tunnels completely with hot liquid metal. After the aluminum has cooled and solidified, the sculpture is carefully excavated from the ground and cleaned.

The result is an incredible subterranean world created by the world’s ‘best architects’.
