In October, Banksy’s work graced the streets of New York.
As these pieces proved to be a hit with the city’s residents, an imposter has surfaced in Paris, imitating the style of this well-known graffiti artist.
The imitator set up a website called Back To The Roots, which resembles the site created during Banksy’s residence, suggesting that the artist was going to tag the streets of Paris every day. He even posted photographs of works of art on an Instagram account.
This residency was quickly deemed as fake by the news site Les Inrocks, with Pest Control Office stating that the works were not genuine.
We wonder if this fake Banksy will move on to do more original work now that his secret has been revealed.
