McDonald’s Likens Its Big Mac To Classic Films In Its Oscars Ad

To tie-in with the awards theme, McDonald’s has likened its Big Mac to famous films in its Oscars spot that aired during Sunday’s show.

In the ad, iconic elements from classic movies like King Kong and Jaws are spelled out in plain text while Debussy’s Clair De Lune plays in the background. McDonald’s then caps off the spot with its 1974 equation of “two beef patties + special sauce + lettuce + cheese + pickles + onions + sesame seed bun.”

It’s rather bold of the fast food chain to place its product in the same league as those beloved films, but given its status as a global empire, one can hardly fault its strategy.
