IIan Moyer and Nadya Peek from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have designed and created a portable multi-tool device for travelling creatives
Called PopFab, it has a computer-controlled motion platform with a detachable tool head—allowing it to create objects from a digital plan in a variety of ways.
The video below demonstrates its 3D printing capabilities, while future videos will demonstrate its other functions such as milling, vinyl cutting and drawing.
PopFab fits comfortably in a briefcase and can be taken onboard flights as a carry-on luggage.
