For twenty years, Andy Warhol had Campbell’s Soup for lunch every day—which inspired him to create his 1962 painting collection of 32 Campbell’s Soup cans.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Warhol’s famous work, Campbell’s Soup is introducing special-edition cans of its condensed tomato soup—a flavor that the artist liked—featuring labels reminiscent of the pop artist’s paintings.
The 1.2 million cans in four color schemes, would be sold at Target stores worldwide from Sunday onwards, at 75-cents each.
To create the new label designs, Campbell’s design team worked with The Warhol Foundation.
