Logitech Unveils Washable Keyboard, For Those Of Us Who Eat At Our Desk

We all know food, drinks and technology just don’t mix—but yet we still insist on eating at our desk, only to curse the heavens when we make that inevitable mess.

To save us the trouble of that repeated scenario, Logitech has unveiled their latest PC keyboard—the ‘Washable Keyboard K310’.

In a report by CNet, the K310 is able to tolerate anything from “a light dusting to a rinse in the kitchen sink”.

It can be washed multiple times, be submerged in up to 11 inches of water and left out to dry—thanks to holes at the back of the keyboard.

The keyboard characters are laser printed and UV-coated, so they don’t fade after a wash or cleaning.

According to Sophie Le Guen, senior director of mice and keyboards at Logitech, she said, “Because life and its messes will happen, regardless of how careful you are, Logitech designed the Washable Keyboard K310 to look and function like new, even over time.”

The K310 will be compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

It will be available across the U.S. by August for a retail price of USD$39.99, while the Europe launch is in October.

Guess it’s time to say goodbye to dirty keyboards!
