Swedish designer Ola Giertz has created the ‘Thread Bench’, which is made from bars of metal manually bent using a labor-intensive process of ‘cold and warm forging’.
Giertiz’s creation was inspired by a child’s playful outlook at the world, thus having an idea of something asymmetrical and ‘light-hearted’.
“Why does everything have to be so perfect and tidy looking?” asked Giertiz.
The bench may seem chaotic but also offers a sense of playfulness—something lacking in most furniture design.
