Construction company Beckett Rankine will be undertaking the project of building a floating airport in the middle of the Thames Estuary in London.
The 40 billion Pound ‘Goodwin Airport’ will feature four-runways built on the Goodwin Sand—a safe location on national waters that is 40 minutes away from London.
The airport will be connected to other nearby European cities in the future as well, through a series of underground railway systems.
According to the company, the Goodwin Airport is an eco-friendly site as no homes will be demolished and flights can operate 24-hours around the clock because there are no residential areas nearby.
