In less than 48 hours after its release, Google Maps for the iOS was downloaded more than 10 million times and became the top free app in Apple’s iTunes Store.
In a blog post by Jeff Huber, the senior vice-president of geo and commerce at Google, he talks about the success of Google Maps.
“We’re excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world,” said Huber, “Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it,for this release and over the last 7+ years.”
