Old Airplane Gets Transformed Into A Kindergarten

In Rustavi, Georgia, an old Yakovlev-42 plane has been transformed into a playschool.

To create the plane-school, the kindergarten’s headmaster Gari Chapidze transported the retired plane from Tbilisi airport to Rustavi—at an undisclosed sum—and refurbished it.

The plane’s interior was given desks and educational toys—while the cockpit remains intact for the children to play with the buttons, knobs and gear.

“I wondered for a long time how to make a kindergarten where children will not want to go home. So I cam up with the idea of making a kindergarten in a plane,” Chapidze told The Telegraph.

According to The Telegraph, 20 children currently attend the kindergarten, but lots more have been added to the waiting list since the airplane’s arrival.
