The speculations have been right—today, Instagram is introducing video on its latest app update.
‘Video for Instagram’ lets you capture and share up to 15-second moments, that are more than just static images.
To activate video mode, all users have to do is to tap the ‘movie camera icon’ in the camera mode of the app.
With 13 built-in filters for Video for Instagram, videos can have the same vintage-look throughout the clip—just like photos.
Instagram also allows users to select a favorite scene of the recoded video as the cover image.
Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog post, “Some moments… need more than a static image to come to life. Until now these stories have been missing from Instagram. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Video on Instagram and bring you another way to share your stories.”
