The brilliant new ads for the upcoming NBA Finals creatively imagines the many ways in which beautiful winning shots made by star players—namely Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers—can be preserved for posterity.
Each shot featured in the “FOREVER is BIG” campaign is first “frozen” in time, before the ad moves on to show how these iconic instances of triumph are depicted and celebrated in the most unlikely forms across the world.
For instance, Kobe Bryant’s slam dunk becomes an unconventional wedding cake topper while Dirk Nowitzki’s signature fade away jump shot gets immortalized as action figures.
Created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, the ads effectively reflect how such glorious but fleeting moments in the game are “remembered in our collective consciousness” and “the impact that the NBA Finals has on the world”.
