Adidas has unveiled the official match ball of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, ‘Brazuca’.

Inspired by Brazil, the soccer ball was named after the colloquial term that means “Brazilian”, or to describe the Brazilian way of life.

In line with its name, its design features a colored ribbon design on its panels to symbolize the traditional multi-colored wish bracelets worn by Brazilians, and the vibrancy and fun associated with soccer in the country.

What’s so special about it is that the ball features a six-panel design that’s said to be “revolutionary” and a unique surface—created with breakthrough technology—that improves grip, touch, stability and aerodynamics.
