Norwegian photographer Torgeir Berge has a lovely series of photographs that captures the unlikely friendship between his dog Tinni and a fox.
The pair met the fox, whom Berge has named Sniffer, while out walking in the woods one day. Tinni and Sniffer are now inseparable and play every day.
Berge shot the pair romping and frolicking around the forest, showing them pawing playfully at each other, posing with their mouths open, and sleeping together.
Kinni and Sniffer’s friendship is amazing because they are two species that have been kept away from each other for centuries, due to the domestication of dogs and a misunderstanding of foxes.
Berge is in the midst of writing a book of fairytales inspired by their friendship called The Fox and the Dog, and part of the proceeds will go towards Berge’s efforts to fight the fox fur trade.
