Filmmaker Jon Rolph, known as ‘CheesyBricks’ on YouTube, has recently released a fascinating stop-motion film that showed him recreating Piet Mondrian’s famous painting, Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow, entirely with LEGO bricks.

His attention to detail in the short film is impressive—look out for his clever, subtle use of “paint strokes” created with animated LEGO bricks, and how the paint brush moved realistically across the canvas.
