
‘Albinos’ can be easily identified by their fair white skin and hair, which is caused by a genetic defect that halts the production of melanin in their bodies.
Because of their pale, ghostly appearance—they are sometimes the subject of ridicule and discrimination in certain cultures.
However, through the lens of Brazilian photographer Gustavo Lacerda, he confronts the negativity cast upon them by society—capturing these individuals in a beautiful photo series he calls ‘Albinos’.
