Iconic Paintings Get A Video Game Makeover

With New York’s Museum of Modern Art announcing the launch of its video game collection recently, pop-culture website Team Coco has taken the opportunity to give its own take on video game as art.

Inserting characters from well-known video games—such as Pac-Man and Street Fighters—into iconic paintings, this mash-up of the modern and classical art forms is at once amusing and refreshing.

These video game-inspired makeovers feature a Mario-headed Mona Lisa among other cleverly-manipulated images of famous artworks—including Andy Warhol’s signature pop art portraits and Dali’s The Persistence Of Memory.
