For “the most wonderful time of the year” according to singer Andy Williams, Tokyo, Japan-based design studio tha ltd. has created a miniature town made of 100 gingerbread houses and over 15,000 MUJI snacks for MUJI’s Yurakucho store.
The gingerbread diorama installation has embedded monitors that display real-time tweets and Instagram pictures that have been posted with the hashtag “#mujixmas”.
MUJI’s Yurakucho store will be displaying the gingerbread town until 25 December—but for those who aren’t in its vicinity, the retailer has also made a 24-hour live-feed available.
So virtual visitors can check out the gingerbread town, as well as add posts on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag “#mujixmas” and see it appear live on-site.
You can even see when the store gets visitors in Japan, and watch the MUJI candy train go round and round.
