Paris-based designer Benjamin Graindorge has created the ‘Fallen Tree’ bench—as its name would suggest, it looks just like a tree on its side.
The minimalist piece has been carefully carved out of an oak tree—propping up one end of the bench with a piece of glass, the designer has left the original branches from the tree to support the other end.
The rustic but sophisticated design serves as a reminder of the bench’s living origin.
The Fallen Tree is on display at Design Miami in Basel, Switzerland this week.
