Brooklyn-based graphic designer Erik Freer has created an erotic typeface where the letters are pieced together with images of naked male bodies.
Inspired by a famous banned poetry collection—titled Leaves of Grass—by gay poet Walt Whitman, the typeface visualizes the intense eroticism of the poems.
Basing his work upon the Scot-Roman font used in Whitman’s original manuscripts, Freer re-drew and overlaid the letters with images of nude men in Photoshop.
The typeface consists of a number of different versions—while one uses images of idealized male forms from the ancient-classical world, another one features contemporary images of porn stars and fashion models.
