Directors of independent publisher Nobrow, Sam Arthur and Alex Spiro, were looking to create an app that would help readers gain a greater appreciation of an artist's work.
Their new app, Nobrow Comics, enhances the usual comic browsing experience by allowing users to take a look "behind the scenes" and see the process behind each piece of work.
With the introduction of the 'Layer' feature, readers are able to view the many drafts and preliminary sketches that artists make before arriving at the final product. Such a feature is only possible with digital technology, as it would require much more effort and cost to achieve the same results in print.
