Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori has built a ‘flying mud boat’ house as part of his ‘travelling tea house’ installation.
The flying mud boat is suspended on tension cables that go over four natural wooden posts on each side and is only accessible by ladder.
It consists of two halves, where the top is made of a shingle roof—while the bottom is a bowl of mud plaster painted in neutral earthen yellow.
The suspended acorn-shaped house can be installed in any environment and climate, and could be useful in places where being elevated off the ground would be advantageous.
