Dutch design firm Makkink & Bey has designed a set of furniture that is made for nomads.
The studio came up with a backpack that transforms into a sofa bed, a walking cane can be assembled into an illuminated screen, and a carrycot that can be converted into a table.
The team wanted to provide the world with “expandable, foldable and lightweight furniture to travel with, as they traverse boundless interiors [in] our shrinking world.”
This collection of ideas is called “Conceptroom Huisraad”, and is being exhibited at Living Spaces, an exhibition that explores textiles in Dutch interiors. This exhibition is held at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
